What is MySchoolMyVillageMyPlanet?
The MySchoolMyVillageMyPlanet fundraising programme is one of South Africa’s biggest community programmes. It raises funds for schools, charities and environmental organisations through a card system that allows supporters to raise funds for their beneficiary (school or charity) every time they shop at our partner stores. Partners make a contribution, on behalf of the supporter/cardholder, towards the beneficiary they have selected.
The system allows cardholders to make a difference to a worthy cause without it costing them a cent! The MySchoolMyVillageMyPlanet programme raises more than R6 million per month for the schools, charities, animal welfare and environmental organisations it supports.
How does it work?
AMP will receive a donation each time you swipe your MySchoolcard when you make a purchase at one of MySchool’s partner stores.
More than 1.2 million South Africans carry MySchool cards.
Supporters apply for a free MySchoolMyVillageMyPlanet card and select up to 3 schools and/or charities as their beneficiary/ies. When they purchase items from participating retailers they swipe the card with the purchase. A percentage of their transaction is then allocated to their beneficiary.
The partner stores pay the contribution on behalf of the cardholder. All these transactions are recorded and a statement is sent to individual supporters on a monthly basis. The supporter card is not a credit or debit card but simply tracks transactions and funds raised.
Will it cost me anything?
No.
It will not cost you anything to sign up for a MySchool card or to add AMP as a beneficiary to your existing card.
When you make a purchase at one of the MySchool partner stores and swipe your MySchool card, the store will make a donation to AMP, but this will NOT add any additional cost to your purchase.
How will AMP benefit?

Will my inbox be flooded with marketing as a result of signing up for the card?
MySchool will send you a monthly email statement reflecting your transactions and the funds raised for your beneficiaries. You can specify your communication preferences on the form when you sign up.
When you sign up, you can choose to opt out of marketing and promotions.
At which stores can I swipe my MySchool card?
Supporters can use their cards at a range of national, regional and local retail partners on the MySchoolMyVillageMyPlanet system. Some of the national partners include:
